Medical Research Extern, Part time, May - Aug. 2004
Providence Hospital, Department of Physiology
- Performed cellular and molecular experiments, including SDS-Page electrophoresis, Western blot transfers, immunodetection with enhanced chemiluminescence reagents, Bradford protein assays, and adaptive immunotherapy cancer treatments.
- Conducted bacterial genetics techniques, including the litigation of gene clones, plasmid extraction, DNA digestion with restriction enzymes, IPTG tests, vector expression, Agarose gel electrophoresis, Southern blot transfers, DEAE sepharose chromatography, the preparation of competent bacteria, and aseptic technique.
- Participated in the animal research section of the laboratory by assisting in the surgeries, MRI analyses, CT-scans, while also acquiring the skills for basic microsurgery.
